The Lifestyle Edit | Ece SukanRecently, I professed my love of the style of Mytheresa.com fashion editor Veronika Heilbrunner but she’s not the only person who captured my imagination this fashion: say hello to Ece Sukan. She’s a fashion stylist, creative consultant and has long been an influencer in the Turkish fashion scene but strangely this season was the first time I came across her. Naturally the moment after fashion week ended, a full afternoon on Google stalking ensued and now my desktop is currently full with far too many street style images of her for me to admit.

Just to give you a bit of background, Sukan got a name for herself introducing Turkey to vintage fashion by opening the first high-end vintage boutique in Istanbul called Ece Sukan Vintage. It’s since then that she secured a fashion director role at Marie Claire and a creative consultant and editor-at-large gig at Vogue Turkey when the magazine launched four years ago. She’s also lent her eye for the likes of Trussardi and now splits her time between Istanbul, New York and Milan. Not bad for an afternoon of Internet stalking, no?

There’s something really special about the way she puts clothes together. Refreshingly you don’t just see her sporting whatever is the must have item of the season. As much as she’s wearing labels, nothing is too obvious. There’s always a mix of a key item there, an usual piece there and a good mix of fun vintage pieces too. But more than anything, everything she wears always looks so effortless. Nothing ever looks try hard. Isn’t that what we’re all striving for?
