If you read the piece I wrote recently about ‘real’ clothes, you’ll know that I’m not generally one driven by trends when it comes to my style. That being said, the whole suede moment that’s permeating the fashion vernacular right now has me in its grips. I don’t even think it’s necessarily the 70s reference that’s causing it. There’s just something about a suede jacket that I’m completely in love with right now. But my love for it is quite specific. The style that I’m after is camel and that’s why I was completely captured by the coat this girl was wearing after a show during Paris Fashion Week recently. While it is a nod to the 70s, it doesn’t feel to referential and it works just as well teamed with a feminine blouse like she’s styled it as it would with a simple knit and pair of skinny jeans.
