This summer, I swapped my usual 3-day work week for just a few slow, intentional hours—family graduations, trips to Europe, and quality time with my kids took the lead. But while I unplugged, my business didn’t grind to a halt—it kept humming along on purpose-built systems. In this post, I share how you can lean into presence without sacrificing progress, and why summer is the perfect time to refine, plan, and prepare for your strongest months ahead.
We’re in full summer mode over here.
At the time of writing, I’ve just come back from my youngest’s graduation—and in a couple of days, we’re doing it all again for my eldest.

It’s just a few days before we’ll be off to London and traveling through Europe with the kids and my side of the family for the summer.
It’s one of my favorite seasons to unplug, slow down, and really enjoy this different pace.
During the summer, my usual 3-day work week schedule turns into around 3 work hours a week.
We trade camps for family travel and an unstructured schedule, since I have the freedom to be at home with them throughout the long school break.
I don’t run big launches that require my energy.
We make sales on evergreen, leveraging the systems and assets we’ve built, tested and optimized.
And we work slowly on some of the deep work that we don’t always have time to get to.
The kind that sets up for the September – December period where we make the most sales.
Years ago I made a conscious decision to run my business cyclically, and around the school year.
It challenged my business to mature from one that was run purely on vibes, energy and my presence, to one that’s intentionally designed to run as normal in these moments where I intentionally pull back.
This is the epitome of a Life-First business, to me.
But for many of the students I work with, summer has always felt like a choice they didn’t want to make:
Keep working like it’s business as usual—but feel resentful and stretched because they’re missing out on what they truly want to be present for.
Or check out completely—and return in September playing catch-up, feeling scattered, under pressure and wondering how to regain momentum without losing themselves in the process.
In my world, we don’t choose between presence or progress.
We embrace a different way entirely.

Summer becomes the season to refine.
To slow the pace we’re working without stalling growth.
To think bigger, more strategically and big picture—not harder or faster.
This is the season to finally get to the stuff you never have time for when your calendar is full and your capacity is maxed.
And to make the intentional shifts that support you to have choices during seasons like this, rather than operating from a place of necessity.
And I’ve built something to help you do exactly that.
Next week, I’m opening the doors to Mid-Year Momentum—an 8-week coaching container delivered inside Voxer (plus two live calls with me) designed to support you in real-time as you refine, streamline, and get back into the CEO seat of your business.
No Zoom calls. No video library to trawl through. Zero pressure.
Just strategic support that meets you where you are—and moves with the rhythm of your summer.
Doors open Monday – and early bird pricing is available for just a few days.
